One small step for a shoe designer Christian Louboutin, one giant leap into the history books.
Let us come into Christian Louboutin: The World’s Most Luxurious Shoes, explores the man himself, as well as his work, as he ventures on a new artistic collection inspired by his trip to the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan.
In 1987, the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris announced a major exhibition of Roger Vivier ’s work, and Louboutin became the assistant and secretary of this go-to shoe designer for chic Parisiennes.
Packaged in a multi-faceted art deco bottle, with a great spike of a lid inspired by calligraphy pens and the Ballerina Ultima – the highest heel Louboutin has ever designed, as part of a collaboration with David Lynch – it will no doubt take pride of place on dressing tables the world over.
Christian Louboutin ‘s inspiration for beauty comes from the famed Egyptian queen Nefertiti (so you can bet kohl eyeliner will be in the lineup). Expect his signature red soles to sprout many variations within his cosmetics line, too, including lipstick and nail colors. And if it wasn’t implied, this line will be chic and luxurious. The new line “has to mirror the quality of the shoes, of the bags, of all the DNA of the brand,” Christian Louboutin said. We’d expect no less.
